The Board of Director's role is to promote the success of our organization and represent the interest of you, our members. Your Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors are:

Bev grew up in the Aldergrove area and continued her studies at Simon Fraser University graduating with a degree majoring in economics and commerce. She is currently the General Merchandise Manager for the Otter Co-op and has a number of years of experience in sales, marketing and management positions. Over the years, she has been very involved in the Aldergrove and Langley area.

Bev currently serves on the Board of the Aldergrove Rotary Club and the Langley Community Services Society. She has previously served on a number of different boards and committees including the Aldergrove Festival days Society, Langley Chamber of Commerce, Board of British Columbia Chamber of Commerce, Langley Hospital Foundation and the organizing committee for the Relay for Life.

Bev served as a municipal Councillor in the Township of Langley from 2008 until 2014, during that term she served on the Economic development Commission, Agricultural Commission, Board of Langley Tourism and the Fraser Valley Library Board.

Bev has two sons, three grandchildren and two step grandchildren. The oldest son James and family live in Fort St John and Chris and family now live on the Surrey Langley border.

Bev was elected to the Aldergrove credit union Board of Directors in 2015.  Bev was elected Board Chair in 2019 and participates in all committees.
Director Lindsay Babineau
Lindsay Babineau
Vice Chair

Lindsay moved to Abbotsford in 1979 and married his wife Lindsay (no that’s not a typo) and together they have two children - a son who is an engineer in Kamloops and a daughter who is a lawyer in Vancouver.

Lindsay graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture in 1977. This accomplishment led him to a career in banking as an agricultural lender with the Bank of British Columbia. This move sparked the beginning of a 35 year career in the financial services industry, 16 of which were spent in the credit union system at Envision Credit Union, where he held several senior positions both in branch and at the administration office.

He believes cooperation is key to building safe and healthy communities to live, work and play – that’s why volunteering and being involved in the community has always been an important part of his life. Lindsay served as a director of Agrifair, a coach with Abbotsford Minor Soccer, Director of the Abbotsford Airport Authority and Vice President of the United Way of the Fraser Valley. He also held an executive role with a local community group that privately sponsored the settlement of a refuge family in 2016.

Lindsay joined the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2017 and enjoys sharing his experience in the financial services industry and passion for community to serve the members of Aldergrove Credit Union. He is currently the Vice Chair plus serves on the Investment & Loan, Compensation & Human Resources and Nominations Committees.

Lindsay and his wife are both retired now and enjoy time out on their boat, working in their garden and travelling.

Director Nav Bains
Navtej Bains

Navtej graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Minor in Communications from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2013. Navtej has spent over a decade working a variety of roles for profit & non-profit organizations, including two other credit unions, along with Aldergrove Credit Union. Navtej is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer for Bains Marketing & Communications Group.

Navtej, who is bi-lingual (English and Punjabi), has a passion for collaboration and strategy, and work with all lines of business to help achieve organizational goals.

Navtej enjoys giving his time back to his surrounding communities. Navtej is Chair Emeritus of the University of the Fraser Valley Alumni Association, past Director for the British Columbia Chapter of the American Marketing Association and served on the credit union fundraising committee for BC Children's Hospital.

Born and raised in Abbotsford, BC, Navtej lived in Vancouver for 5 years after graduating from UFV and recently moved to Langley, where he resides with his wife and their son, Kaveer.

Navtej was elected by acclamation to the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2019 and serves on the Audit, Conduct Review and Planning & Governance Committees.

Director Ken Forcier
Ken Forcier

Ken graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Simon Fraser University in 1982 and received the Certified General Accountants designation in 1988, for the past 24 years, he has operated as a Sole Practitioner in Public Accounting. Prior to this he worked at an international accounting firm and a realty firm in Vancouver, before moving back to his hometown of Abbotsford.

Ken has also been involved in other business enterprises over the years including a fitness facility, sports lounge, manufactured home park, commercial property management, as well as various other investment ventures in Canada and Arizona.

Ken is actively involved in the community and has served on a number of boards and committees including, Chair and Director of the Upper Fraser Valley Chapter of CGA, Treasurer of the MSA Museum Society, Treasurer of the Central Fraser Valley Crime Stoppers Society and Chair and member of the Skyline Club of Abbotsford.

Ken is active in community sports including hockey, squash, cycling and tennis. He has been married for over 27 years and has four children, three of whom are attending the University of the Fraser Valley and one in high school.

Ken has been a member of the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors since 2005 and has served on various committees during that time. He currently serves on the Audit, Compensation & Human Resources, and Nominations Committees.
Director Nate Hampson
Nate Hampson

Nathan was born, raised and currently lives in Abbotsford with his wife and little girl. He graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelor of Computer Science and started an I.T. business in his senior year.

Since then Nathan has managed and grown his I.T. company and now leads a team engaging with local businesses across various industries to leverage technology effectively and securely. He is passionate about effective team management and the transformative power of technology on our society.

Nathan, who enjoys spending time with his family, renovating his home, and playing strategy games, was elected by acclamation to the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2019. He currently serves on the Audit, Investment & Loan, and Compensation & Human Resources Committees.

Director David Sawatzky

David Sawatzky

David currently resides in Abbotsford with his wife Suzanna and their 4 children and has spent the majority of his life in Mission. For the last nine years David and his wife have owned and operated Nutek Sign Creations, a full service sign and graphic company located in Mission. David is a community minded, family-centric business professional; experienced in Management & Leadership, Client Relations and Business Development.

David’s experience from owning and operating his company, coupled with his prior career working in the construction and industrial equipment rental industry has strengthened his skills in team building, communications, short and long-term planning, divisional management, budgeting, human resources, project management and corporate acquisition.

David was elected by acclamation to the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2019 and has served in many capacities on various Boards, most recently as the President and Board Chair of the Mission Regional Chamber of Commerce from 2016-2018. Prior to chairing the MRCC Board of Directors, David was the chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee where he served as the organization's primary liaison to all levels of government and was responsible for leading many successful policy resolution proposals.

David currently serves on the Aldergrove Credit Union Conduct Review, Nominations and Planning & Governance Committees.

Tracey Scott

Tracey, born in Abbotsford and raised in Mission, was a member of the Matsqui Credit Union since a very young age. She remembers taking her little green account record book into the village branch with her berry picking and babysitting money for deposit.

With her recent Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management, Tracey combines her years of experience in construction, sales, and logistics in a new position with Quantum Properties as a Project Manager, responsible for the coordination of a 4-phase multi-use development in Port Coquitlam. Previously, Tracey held positions as Logistics Manager at Alliance Truss, Accounting Coordinator at the Coast Hotel in Whistler, and a co-owner of Epic Truss Squamish. She’s volunteered as treasurer for MSS PAC, MSS Dry Grads, Squamish Sea Scouts, and the Abbotsford Sumas Rotary Club.

Tracey brings business owner insight, knowledge of navigating contracts and financial reporting, and strong computer system confidence. She’s solution orientated, actively listens, has great team experience, and is committed to the community that comprises the core values of Credit Unions. Tracey, an outdoor enthusiast, currently lives in Mission with her husband and two children.

Director Doug Sweeting
Doug Sweeting

A long-time resident of the Fraser Valley, Doug and his wife Lisa settled in Langley over 12 years ago. Together they raised five children and currently breed and train horses on their Langley acreage.

For the past 40 years, Doug has dedicated his career to the financial services industry, working with Insurance Companies, Credit Unions, Securities Dealers and a Bank. As an entrepreneur, Doug has owned several insurance agencies and developed Wealth Management divisions for BC Credit Unions.

He’s actively involved with not for profit organizations and is currently a member of the board for the Canadian Cancer Society, BCY division.

Doug was elected to the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2018 and currently serves on the Audit, Conduct Review and Planning & Governance Committees.
Director Robert Van Belle
Robert Van Belle

Robert is a long term member of Aldergrove Credit Union and still remembers the day he opened his account at the Matsqui Community Branch in the 1980s. Since then, despite living in various cities around the world, he has always remained a loyal ACU member.

He is a partner at Agentis Capital Partners, which provides financial advisory services to pension and investment funds on the acquisition of infrastructure projects. He has participated in various projects including the Abbotsford Hospital and Cancer Centre, and the new Port Mann Bridge project.

Robert holds a Master’s degree in international finance and economics from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Calvin College. He is passionate about technology and is involved with several start-up companies in BC.

Rob was elected to the Aldergrove Credit Union Board of Directors in 2017 and currently serves on the Conduct Review, Investment & Loan and Compensation & Human Resources Committees.
